| Since Al Gore's monumental big screen debut, awareness of the importance of supporting local suppliers of clean, renewable energy in New Zealand has taken on a renewed sense of importance. While New Zealand has an international image or reputation of being clean and green and nuclear-free, which is certainly a part of most Kiwis' mentalities, businesses here revere profit as highly as businesses in every other developed country.
I got the following e-mail from Nick Young, of Greenpeace NZ.
------------------------
Hi Jon,
I don't know whether you've seen the TV ads Genesis Energy have been running of late ... the one with the resourceful young Pukeko and the catchy tune?
Anyway, we thought their attempt at making themselves look all green and sustainable was a bit rich - so we've released an alternate version of the ad to show the real story.
Once you've watched the ad please send the link to as many people as possible, give it a good rating post it on your blog or myspace page, and vote for it on Scoopit.co.nz
With you and all the other Greenpeace cyberactivists we can make this 'go viral' as they say.
Thank you for your support,
Nick Young

Most people I feel are aware of the power of imagery in relation to truth... seeing is believing. What impression would your average TV viewer get of the original ad? Greenpeace NZ, the environment, and honest people thank you for your support. -j
